Quickway are proud to announce that we have been awarded the Henry Lawson Drive Upgrade Stage 1A between Tower Road, Bankstown Aerodrome and Auld Avenue, Milperra, with works on the ground due to commence in March 2023.
The project involves the upgrade of a 1.1 kilometre length of Henry Lawson Drive between south of Auld Avenue, Milperra, and Tower Road, Bankstown Aerodrome; creating two lanes in each direction along Henry Lawson Drive. As part of the project, Henry Lawson Drive’s intersections with Newbridge Road/Milperra Road and Tower Road will be upgraded to provide additional right turn lanes.
The works include earthworks, pavements, stormwater drainage, footpaths/pedestrian access, public utility adjustments/protection, street lighting, property adjustments and landscaping.
As part of this project, Quickway’s scope of works includes but is not limited to:
- Earthworks (including Stabilisation) and deep lift pavement construction for the widening of the road and intersection.
- Significant Utility relocations and installations (contestable and non-contestable) to enable the roadworks.
- Construction of culvert crossing Henry Lawson Drive, and retaining walls adjacent to Bankstown Airport
- Environmental management for works that are adjacent to the George’s River
- Traffic Planning and Management to maintain traffic flow and limit impact to the high volume of traffic on the road and intersection each day.
- Community Management to interact and coordinate with local community, businesses, Council, Bankstown airport, and other stakeholders.
