Darkness into Light
Quickway are proud to be a Gold Sponsor for this year’s Darkness into Light Sydney walk which took place at sunrise on Saturday 8th May. Due to the current public health advice this year’s walk was different in that small gatherings took place at various locations, with our staff participating in Sydney’s eastern suburbs and on the Central Coast.
Darkness into Light began in Dublin in 2009 when 400 people took part in a 5km walk to raise funds for Pieta House – who provide a professional one-to-one therapeutic service to people who are in suicidal distress, those who engage in self-harm, and those bereaved by suicide. The movement has since grown, and in recent years hundreds of thousands of people have participated in Darkness into Light events all over the world. The Sydney event raises funds for both Pieta House and for batyr – which is an Australian-based preventative mental health organisation, created and driven by young people, for young people.
