The project involved the construction of a second pair of tracks, each of which is 6.5km long, on the East Hills line. It also included the construction of 10 new rail bridges and the modification of 5 existing bridges, including 1 incremental launch.

Quickway were contracted to carry out bridge construction, retaining walls, concrete plinths, capping beams and other associated concrete works.
