Project Overview
The project involved the construction of a bridge over HW10 approximately 600m south of the existing Sancrox.
This project formed part of the HW10 Pacific Highway Upgrade, Oxley Highway to Kempsey.
Project Description
Quickway were contracted to:
- Construct in-situ abutments & middle pier
- Install pre-tensioned Super-T girders including temporary propping
- Install deck including all ancillaries
- Install precast parapets and in-situ stitch
- Ensure all elements complied to B80 specifications
- Pour concrete to RMS specifications

Key Challenges
- Interaction with numerous trades including piling contractors
- Working over live traffic – traffic switches, road to remain open at all times
- Koala Sanctuary – working within a koala protected zone and implementing a management plan and controls
- Insulation required for curing all substructure elements to control temperature
