Safety Award of the Quarter – Alex Crane
Quickway’s Traffic Manager, Alex Crane, working with the CPB team on the Frederickton to Eungai (F2E) project on the Mid North Coast, demonstrated superior traffic management skills to ensure the safety of a member of the public and his wife who were visiting the area on the afternoon of Tuesday 3 May. The couple from Victoria, were driving along the M1 near Kempsey, when they experienced a blowout at relatively low speed. The implications for the traffic management team were complex as darkness fell & efforts extended from 4-10pm, when they were able to move the vehicle off the shoulder. The member of the public wrote to Quickway and said from the moment the team came to their aid with the comforting words: “Don’t worry mate – we won’t leave you“ he knew they were safe. His gratitude captured with: “The care and reassurance offered by the team, led by Alex; was outstanding”. Our culture and safety for clients, staff and general public is our no 1 priority. Well done to Alex and all the team involved. You make us all proud!
