Derek Mullally
Managing Director
Derek is a respected professional in the civil engineering and construction industry with over 30 years’ combined experience, commencing with site-based positions and progressing through to senior management and business leadership.
Derek has an exceptional technical and commercial record in project delivery and thrives in developing and managing high-performing teams to deliver complex infrastructure projects across Australia. Since forming Quickway in 2006, he has been passionate about navigating the journey and achieving his vision for the business within the industry. He is equally comfortable on site or in the boardroom. Responsibilities include the executive control of all business operations, with ultimate accountability for the delivery of outcomes to the client. This involves close liaison with the client from tender stage to project completion, whilst simultaneously leading and coordinating Quickway Management, staff and subcontractors.
David Tan
CFO, Director
David joined Quickway in June 2013 and has over 20 years' experience in the construction, subcontracting and maintenance sectors.
He is currently the CFO and a Director of Quickway. Prior to this, David held Financial Controller roles at Harsco Infrastructure (now Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services), UGL and GCS Group.
David's expertise and responsibility span financing, structuring and compliance for Quickway Group and its subsidiaries. He has a sound track record in establishing greenfield businesses, developing business to the next level and creating value for shareholders. David is a Fellow of CPA Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Finance from Curtin University.
Peter Wilkinson
Director
Peter formally joined Quickway in July 2018 following an advisory association with the business since 2013.
Peter’s 30 years of industry expertise and experience is in developing, implementing and enabling growth in Engineering and Construction businesses. He specialises in outsourced services and has deep experience in private and Government funded infrastructure across the full spectrum of contracting methodologies
He has applied his construction, asset and systems development and management expertise in the infrastructure, transportation, mining, defence, utilities and property industries both locally and overseas. Peter has refined his bid management and project development skills both locally and Internationally. Peter has held Executive Management positions with Transfield Services (now part of Ventia), GHD Pty Ltd, Serco Asia Pacific, UGL and with NSW State Rail Authority (now Sydney Trains). Peter hold professional qualifications in Engineering and an MBA (AGSM).

Damian O'Callaghan
National Pre-Contracts Manager
Damian has over 18 years’ experience in the mixed utilities, water, power, transport and construction industries in Ireland, the USA, and Australia. He has held construction and business management roles in Australia and overseas.
As a highly driven and knowledgeable National Tendering Manager, Damian has been recognised for his strong attention to detail, his ability to communicate with construction professionals at all levels, willingness to take responsibility of all tasks and projects, and a proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities in fast-paced environments. Damian brings the unique combination of extensive project delivery and vast tendering and estimating experience through a demonstrated track record of winning contracts, with in-depth understanding of technical, commercial, business, and strategic elements.
Tommy Kelly
Division Manager - Utilities
Tommy joined Quickway in early 2020 and has over 16 years' experience in the civil and mixed utilities construction sectors, both in Ireland and Australia. Tommy holds a Honours Degree in Civil Engineering, graduating in 2003 at Limerick Institute of Technology in Ireland. Upon graduation, Tommy commenced his civil engineering profession working for a major civil engineering company in Ireland, predominately on roads, utilities and bulk earthworks.
Tommy is currently leading the utilities division at Quickway. Tommy has worked on a broad range of complex and challenging projects for various clients such as, Sydney Water, Hunter Water, Ausgrid, Endeavour Energy and many tier one clients. He has extensive knowledge of all areas of the civil industry with expertise being around challenging and high-risk work.
Pieter Van Heerden
Division Manager - Transport
Pieter joined Quickway in April 2018 and has over 20 years experience in Construction. He is currently in the role of Senior Project Manager. Pieter has worked on Major Infrastructure Projects in both UK and Australia, most recent being Senior positions with Laing O'Rourke and Leightons.
He has extensive experience managing large scale Infrastructure Projects and delivering works on schedule and within budget. He has the ability to build good relationships and effective communication with Clients resulting in positive project outcomes. Pieter holds a Diploma of Project Management, NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Management and BTEC Level 5 HND in Civil Engineering Surveying.
Mark Connolly
National Commercial / Contracts Manager
Mark has over 20 years experience in the construction industry, commencing with site-based tradesperson positions before transitioning into quantity surveying roles. He has held positions in Ireland, the USA, and Australia. He is a graduate of Northumbria University, where obtained a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying. He has held senior commercial positions in Australia since 2016, and has been employed by Quickway as National Commercial / Contracts Manager since 2021.
Mark has comprehensive experience across the civil & utilities, building, rail, and mining sectors, and is responsible for managing all commercial and contractual matters within our organisation, providing invaluable guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of our projects. Mark is a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, making him adept at mitigating risks and managing stakeholder expectations. He also has a proven track record of effectively resolving contentious issues, while always prioritising client satisfaction.
